Absinthe is a Spiegelworld production that has been running at the Spiegeltent on Caesars Palace's Roman Plaza since 2011 — making it one of the longest-running live shows in Las Vegas history. The format is deliberate and intimate. The Spiegeltent is a custom circular tent holding approximately 571 people, with a center stage and seating all the way around it. No seat is more than 12 rows from the action. World-class circus performers — aerialists, acrobats, strength artists, roller skate acts, contortionists — perform genuine feats of athleticism at distances that would not be possible in a large theater. The innermost ring of the Spiegeltent — just a few feet from the center stage. You're close enough to hear the performers breathe. Aerial acts swing overhead, acrobats land within arm's reach of the front row. If you want maximum proximity to genuinely world-class performers, this is the section.
The second concentric ring from the stage — still extremely close by any normal theater standard. You get the full view of the stage with slightly more sightline range than the front ring. Many guests prefer this distance because you can take in the whole act without craning your neck. Still very intimate — performers are visibly close.
The mid-house ring — comfortable center-of-the-tent territory. In the Spiegeltent's compact circular design, "mid-house" would be front-section at almost any conventional Las Vegas showroom. You get the full panoramic view of the stage and excellent sightlines to aerial acts above.
The outermost ring of the Spiegeltent — the furthest seats in the house. In most venues, back-of-house means distance and compromised sightlines. In the Spiegeltent, the furthest seat is 12 rows from the stage — closer than front-of-house at most Strip showrooms. The circular format means every angle gets the show.
